About the Programme

In the past, the focus of 'retirement planning' has been limited to financial security - and, whilst important, does not address the many other issues, challenges and changes that people nearing the traditional retirement age have to deal with.  In contrast, the Age with Attitude Programme takes a holistic approach to retirement and uses a range of tools and techniques to cover 6 important life arenas

  • career and work

  • health and wellness

  • finances and insurance

  • family and relationships

  • leisure and social

  • personal development

How will you spend the 20-30 years of your retirement?  What will provide meaning and enjoyment to you?  The Age with Attitude programme will help you to identify what is uniquely important to you.  The programme helps you to put together an action-plan that provides you with clarity, focus and control over your future.

The Tools we Use

The Age with Attitude programme is based on the tools developed by Dr Richard P Johnson of Retirement Options.  Retirement Options started in 1989 in the United States and Dr Johnson’s tools and techniques have since been used around the world on over 20,000 people. Your coach is fully trained in and certified to use the Retirement options tools.  There are currently over 600 certified RetirementOptions coaches world-wide.

The Age with Attitude programme ensures that these extensively tested, well validated tools are relevant to New Zealanders.  Kiwi references and information have been added to ensure they are practical and of assistance to people living in New Zealand .

On-line assessment - The Age with Attitude Programme starts with an on-line assessment that takes approximately 30 minutes.  The results of this assessment provide you with a 10-page overview of how you compares to others in a similar life circumstance regarding your personal growth toward the life transition we call retirement.

The e-book - What Colour is Your Retirement was written by Dr Johnson and it accompanies the assessment report.  The book is intended to involve provide you with further context and detail on each of the life arenas.  The content of the book has been modified slightly to ensure it is relevant to New Zealanders.  This is available to you by email or on CD when you sign up for one of the Age with Attitude programmes we run. The Age with Attitude Workbook consists of 2-3 exercises for each of the 20 factors of the LifeOptions Profile that serve to further personalize and deepen your understanding and attitudinal penetration of the content of that factor.
